Robo-call says no school March 1

At around 6:30pm Sunday Feb 28, the Newburgh School District sent a robo-call notification that: "There will be no school tomorrow, on Monday March 1, 2010 in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District due to power outages and transportation problems."

This information (as well as how to add or remove a telephone number to the robo-call list) ought to be at the Newburgh School District's offical website.

If we were closed due to power outages, how would we get the call???????

If we were closed...how...get the call??????

Parts of the City of Newburgh, as well as, the Town of Newburgh did not get power back on until Monday or Tuesday, some on Wednesday. Downed trees, tree limbs, and wires had to be cleaned from the streets in the city and town. There was more damage then one might think. Be thankful that some one was thinking about those of us with tree damage to homes, cars, etc., and loss of power. It was a damaging snow storm; be thankful you did receive a phone call due to the extensive damage to power, telephone, cable lines, transformers, and substations that provide power. If you were one of the lucky ones that had power during the course of the snow storm (during and after) count your blessings.
